This completely sound and easy to assemble little mower costs less than a replacement engine for any 3.5 Briggs and Stratton powered mower. The chunky wheels have pre-packed double bearings, the sort you might expect on £400 Hondas or Hayters.
I bought this for difficult confined areas (between shrubs and ornaments) that cannot be reached easily with a larger self-propelled Mountfield. It folds to fit in the back of my car and is light enough to lift with ease.
A real plus these days is to find a petrol mower with an independent throttle control as opposed to 'factory pre-set' rev limiters.
The engine is a smooth-running, easy-start gem. It is quiet and powerful.
The only negative is that the instruction book refers to an 'oil drain plug' which isn't there. Mine was sent with a blanked-off insert which cannot be removed. How silly. The sump base plate has a marked dimple where a drain plug should be, but this has not been drilled/tapped.
But no problem really, I shall either drill-out the sump and fit a plug or carry out oil changes by pumped aspiration through a fine neoprene tube. Given that most owners run petrol mowers until they seize, without ever checking or changing engine oil, then this is most definitely an astounding bargain.
