3.0 out of 5 stars Buy with caution 6 Oct 2011
By BradUK
You need a pc, nothing too fancy, you dont care about what it looks like as long as it works, right? Then this is for you. Very good value for money, well packaged and arrived in good time. Thats the good points. Bad points? Theres no power lead, even though you can ask the seller & possibly buy one from them, Its an "old style" kettle lead that you will need. Fortunatly i knew what i needed so had a spare. The "box" "stack" "tower" whatever you want to call it, is a little beat up, not really a problem as i was expecting this but i was not expecting the button that controls the open/close function of the cd drive to be "fixed" with a folded piece of paper and some packing tape!
I emailed seller before purchase & they told me the cd drive was a CDRW drive but no software on the pc to perform this function.
No wireless card or any means of connecting to a wireless network. Will have to buy card or dongle.
The Unit itself is an old model - very bulky so i have it under the desk rather than on top with the monitor.
If all you need is the unit then good price & worth it.
If you want the "bees-knees" then put the money towards a brand new pc & monitor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Misinformed 21 Jan 2011
Verified Purchase
It says 'very stylish later generation model from DELL'. Maybe it was that many years ago but when I purchased one of these recently I took this to be a recent statement about their XP range and not one from many years ago. Make no mistake, this is a very old and outdated design and definitely not one of their later XP models as the description implies. Avoid like the plague. People can't even give these away these days I've since learnt.

The company has since got back to me and say they agree the description was a bit misleading and because of it have offered to replace that model free of charge with the later DELL GX520 model. They also say they will now be selling this newer model now to all their customers and will drop the older one. My thanks to them.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good piece of kit 21 April 2012
Verified Purchase
After reading some of the reviews i was very skeptical about purchasing this for my son however i must say i am pleasantly surprised. It arrived yesterday and was packed carefully. It did come with a power lead (i brought one from elsewhere due to the comments made here about not receiving one, so now we have two, lol) and mouse and new keyboard. It does exactly what what it says so overall i think we got a great deal and my son is happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marvellous 17 Mar 2011
Ohyescomputer is a really confident company. It arrived very fast, and the packaging was superb, and for a computer that only needed at flat screen ontop of it (which I already had from my old PC), the system is superb. After I accidentially removed the sound driver, I contact them, and the member of their team was extremely helpful in helping me get it back on the system. Thankyou Ohyescomputers.

4.0 out of 5 stars does what it says on the tin 17 April 2012
Verified Purchase
I've had this refurbished PC since February, purchased via Amazon marketplace, and so far it has not put a foot wrong, it's fast and very quiet, sometimes I think it has turned itself off.
As long as it continues to perform as it has started, I shall be very happy.
When first received I was alarmed that it stated on screen that the HDD had only 80 GB capacity, when it was sold as having 160 GB, but when I contacted the seller, they explained it was 160, but had been compartmentalised, so was indicating only one compartment. Within a few minutes the seller de-compartmentalised it remotely, over the phone and all was well. Apart from that the only minor worry was there was no instruction manual supplied, but assistance only a phonecall away, but it was pretty straightforward to connect up and within 30 minutes was running smoothly and quietly and a revelation compared with the one it replaced. I feel it was a good buy and the seller most helpful and friendly.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wish I'd Never Bothered 21 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase
It is difficult to comment on the ongoing quality of this product since it stopped working after barely 3 months. It had some oddities such as the @ key being in its usual place, but another symbol being on the button, and the keyboard seemed to very worn in general.

My main problem was that, when it stopped working, I was told that the 3 month warranty had expired but that the company were willing to offer free diagnostics and repair. However they would charge me for any faulty components. Worse, it was going to cost 21.98 in courier charges to get the computer to them. Apparently, I was 'most welcome' to drop it off myself, (a round trip of 229 miles).

I tried to argue that, despite the warranty having expired, I still had rights under the Sale of Goods Act, (which I do), but this was largely ignored in all of the communications. They kept referring me to Amazon's terms & conditions, but I didn't see anything there which was relevant to my problem. Frankly, I have had enough of arguing and, considering it would be far too costly to pursue a legal route, will just have to chalk this one up to experience.

Would I buy again from this trader, what do you think?

1.0 out of 5 stars hard work getting anywhere 14 Feb 2012
Verified Purchase
i have already written one review about this company and they asked me to "take it down"" as it was effecting their business, i did take it down as requested and our problems seemed to be resolved , i have since attached speakers to this system and when i tried to to use them the sound is all distorted i contacted the company and they want more money to make a repair on this as the 30 day warranty is up, i do not think i have been conned but i am not a happy customer an will advise my friends to be wary of this seller. i there fore will get this repaired my self and will have no more dealings with this seller, very unhappy, beware!
