This is truly an inspirational book. Nick draws a lot on the Course in Miracles and the now really famous speech by Marianne Williamson which starts 'Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.'
Each chapter begins with an inspirational quote, and takes a different aspect of True Power, including true identity; creativity and creative genius; the power to own and integrate our shadow; acceptance, transformation; authenticity and the power to live the work we were born to do. True power is based on an all inclusive love. Most of us buy into the illusion that we are separate from the source of Love, (Source Energy or God). I found the chapter on prayer, particularly inspiring and use in constantly in my work. Most of us, however, use prayer as a panic measure, a plea of desperation. This is a fearful kind of praying and you have already separated yourself from Source. When we prayer from the heart, we are connected to our true essence, which is love. Our creativity and abundance are already taken for granted. We just have to let the process unfold from our inner world into the outer one. We pray, not to God, but from the God within. Never was it more important to take charge of our lives in the current economic crisis, believing that we, as individuals, can make a difference. That difference begins with our connection to our own heart centre, and the essence of love. The difference we can make from this perspective is indeed, I believe, powerful beyond measure.
This book is packed with so much information; it isn't a once off read, but something to refer to and be inspired by. I find Nick Williamson's words beautiful and lyrical; the mark of an excellent book. What's more, it truly works and so I use it regularly as part of my meditation practice.....excellent a book of and for our times.
