I bought one of these about 8 months ago and all was well running 1 7970 @ 360w inc hdd, mobo and fans.

After i upgraded my graphics cards to 2 7970s this was not the case is lasted a further 6 weeks then caught fire!

Not popped a capacitor or me exaggerating, actual flames. there was an electrical burning smell so i rushed to check all household items plugged i then as i check the computer dancing flames from the rear of the supply, melted connectors and 1 lead (pcie 6+2 x 2) lead had actually fused together but the psu was still running, luckily no damage was caused to pc of graphics card, if i hadnt been in things could have been a lot worse

Amazon were great about this and sent a replacement straight away.

I used another psu i had xfx 850s powered everthhing back up and all was well.

The replacement x viper 850 arrived , plugged in and 30 mins later blew and tripped the house.

I could be unlucky with 2 faulty units but would strongly advise against buying this

Buy the xfx 850s instead, i have 2 both will run everything without any issues and have served me well.

It's a shame this product did not work. Was happy with the look and finish of the product and the modular design easy fitting.
i might of just been unlucky having a defective Psu.
Also payed for £7 next day that cant be refunded that's the chance i took

I bought this PSU after purchasing a HD7970 Radeon GPU since my old PSU (650W, crap brand I can't remember) kept cutting out on games that required a bit of juice to the graphics (Battlefield 3, ArmA 2/DayZ mod, Skyrim) due to the lack of power needed to supply the "BEAST".

I decided to give this a try, tbh I wasn't expecting that much considering it's price (£65 at the time iirc). It has been in constant use for about 4 months now and have had no problems. It's fairly quite and easy to install. Comes with a few sata extensions too.

As with most PSU's longevity is what matters and while I've only had it for 4 months I will update at a later date, but for now it's a pretty solid buy for the price.

Bought mine over 14 months ago and its still going strong no problems at all!

If your looking for a higher rated power supply (850w) this is not a bad buy at all.

This is my first and only PSU ever used, so I can't compare how loud it is compared to other PSU's of this spec.
