Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Powerball is the world's most powerful hand gyroscope, generating speeds of over 16,000 rpm!
Simply by starting up the Powerball in your hand and rotating your wrist faster you can develop incredible speeds and increase your strength.
Powerball is seriously addictive for all ages, making it ideal for play, exercise, or fun competitions.

Powerball is a dynamic and completely revolutionary new gyroscope that literally explodes with mind-numbing torque and inertia once you activate its internal rotor.
It's about the same size as a tennis ball and weighs just a little more, but take a Powerball in your hand, set that rotor in motion with the cord provided (or use your finger when you get used to it) and you'll experience an extraordinary sensation.
Powerball slowly comes alive with gyroscopic force - a sublime yet pleasant resistance to your movement which is transmitted directly into your wrist and arms and which provides soothing, non impact rehabilitation at these lower speeds.

Bring your new Powerball up to 10,000rpm, the forces are now much stronger, much more vibrant. Higher! Take it right up to an unbelievable 15,000rpm at which point it's exerting almost 40lbs of pressure on your limbs and is travelling at nearly 250 revolutions per second.
No batteries, no motor, just pure gyroscopic power

Not suitable for Children Under 14yrs

Product Description

Give your wrist a workout with the Powerball! This gyroscope ball makes exercise fun, toning the arms and wrists or relaxing tired shoulders. This is a seriously addictive way to exercise and get stronger!

5.0 out of 5 stars Addictive! 19 Oct 2006
Colour Name:Blue
At first I thought the Powerball was a bit of waste of time. It took me a long time to get to grips with how you get the inner ball to rotate. Once you have the hang of it though, it's really quite addictive! The idea is that you hold the powerball in your hand and slowly start to rotate it so that the inner ball spins. Once you pick up speed the inner ball's resistance kicks in and it gives you a great arm workout - perfect if you play a lot of racket sports. Beyond an exercise tool, it's really addictive and I would guess it's a great way of keeping your hands busy when trying to give up smoking! Highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great fun 22 Jan 2009
Verified Purchase
I ordered this item yesterday and received it today. I have been using it for only a few hours and have got the hang of it.

The product works first by the user inserting some nylon cord into the
Powerball and then wrapping it around the ball(you will understand when you see it), then a sharp tug is given which releases the cord and starts the gyroscope inside. Then it is up to the user to make small circular movements with the wrist, at high speed it really gives your forearms a workout and you realise how weak they actually are.

After some practise however it is possible to flick the ball with your free thumb without the use of a cord which is very convenient.

The powerball will slip out of your hand if it is not held in from all directions, which unfortunately means your little finger will be put under stress, a little bruising has resulted, however many have assured me that the ligaments there will strengthen over time.

On a final note I regret not purchasing the Powerball with a digital reader, at the time of purchase I thought it would really have little use but actually comparing your current score with your previous ones and those of your friends would be highly addictive.

I hope this review will help you make an informed decision about this device.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerball 15 May 2007
Colour Name:Blue
This is the original powerball and still the one I keep coming back to. I have been using various powerball for over two years now and I love it as much now as when I first got it. The manufacturer's description really doesn't do this product justice, although their website does. If you use this powerball at low speeds it is great for RSI and other wrist/arm injuries. At high speeds it gives an amazing workout and really builds up all the arm and shoulder muscles. The build quality is incredible (do not be tempted by inferior wannabes) and the lifetime guarantee is unbeatable. I've had to replace a small part already (due to my intensive usage!) and they sent out the part quickly, free of charge and with full fitting instructions, can't say fairer than that! It is truly addictive and put it on a table in a room full of friends and you will all soon be fighting to out do one another. I could write so much more about this product, but really you've got to buy one and try for yourself, you will not regret it! Try to track down the version with the timing computer on top so you can see how you're progressing.

Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a fun product 21 Jun 2009
Colour Name:Blue
It's a really good little excerciser and does what it says on the box but it may be worth purchasing the next model up. The one I tried before I bought this one had a built in rev counter and this one doesn't which is a bit of a loss actually. Being able to see the speed makes it far more competitive.

3.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin. 4 Feb 2009
Not quite as addictive as their advert suggests since it's difficult to read the speed achieved because this model doesn't have the digital counter attached. It's also a pain to start with the string they supply because the ends keep fraying. I bought the "Eezi starter" to make the starting more reliable. Apart from that it certainly makes your wrists ache.

3.0 out of 5 stars It WILL lose it's appeal 23 Mar 2009
This review is specifically for the regular powerball.

This powerball does NOT include a counter.
Yes, you probably were already aware of that, as I was, but are thinking "how much more could that possibly add?" - I owned the powerball for minutes before I wished I had spent the extra couple quid to get a counter included - it really does add that much more enjoyment and seriously lengthens it's "enjoyability". You CAN buy a counter separately, but this is almost the same price as the powerball itself, so essentially I am just URGING you to get the counter included.

The ball itself is... interesting. Doesn't take too long to get the hang of it (at least it didn't for me, there are still several friends of mine struggling to start it every time they want to "play" with it) and you really can feel the strain when you do it correctly (you get most benefit almost holding your entire arm still and forcing yourself to use only your wrist).

Instantaneous effects are a dead arm and a bulging biceps (fun fact of the day: the biceps is mostly a supinator of the hand, not a flexor of the arm, hence it is worked out with this gadget). These effects are short-lived though, so don't expect to look built simply by using this - you'll need a real workout for that.

Grip has improved considerably and tendons in my wrist are rock solid so I will continue using this but the original point still remains...
