I'm not sure about USB to USB however it comes with a micro USB to USB so you can charge it through your computer. No need to buy a plug.

yes you can directly charge from electricity.

We don't think it is waterproof - haven't tried - but did put it in a sandwich bag and attached to rucksack with a D-ring.

you can either use an ipad to iphone adapter and use the cablings provided or connect the ipad cable directly into the usb port of the power bank.

Mine works very well. Only charged it once on adaptor took about 5 hours all four bars. Sits on south facing window sill and will usually show four bars in 4 days ( much less if not behind glass) and charges ipad up to about 80%

Charging it through the mains socket around 8 hours.. I have not as yet tried to use the sun to charge it , so I have yet to use this method , through the mains once again it took my poweradd 8 hours.
