THe charger worked fine after charging it on the computer. But travelling in Africa with it on the dashboard for 12 hours of sunshine it did not regain enough power to charge my phone even once.

I bought one of these Powerbee's and was impressed with its looks, the range of plus and case.
The first time I charged it I did so from my computer via the USB and aslo left it in a sunny position. A week or two later we went camping and one of the phones ran out and the Powerbee recharged it, but after that could not re-charge it foir next time, despite being left in a sunny position for a few days.
Back home I charghed via the computer again, but it is so useless if it can't charge via the sun!

Not so great with smartphones, only enough to charge my Samsung Galaxy just once. Solar charger does not work so well on dashboard of you car either
