Product Description

Synopsis

The aim of this reference is to give a number of power supply designs, including simple unstabilized types, fixed voltage regulated types and variable voltage stabilized designs, the latter being primarily intended for use as bench supplies for the electronic workshop. The designs provided are all low voltage types for semiconductor circuits. Apart from giving many designs which should satisfy most requirements, the information in the book should also help the reader to design his or her own power supplies. There are other types of power supply apart from mains to low voltage type and these are dealt with in the final chapter, including a cassette power supply, Ni-Cad battery charger, voltage step-up circuit and a simple inverter.

Format:Paperback
For a book first published in 1980, it still contains some good information and circuit ideas that can be used today.
The best thing about this book is that it doesn't flood the reader with electronic or power engineering maths, instead, it sticks to recommendations or set circuits.
This makes it an ideal book for a beginner who just wants ideas on how to start their own power supply design or a more experienced person who just wants a book for quick reference instead of vast amounts theory.
