Apart from other Power Ranger toys which in my opinion a waste of money and junk!!
The sword is a sure winner with my 6 year son. It even won me over when I opened it up for the first time.
Opens up like a real sword and has an extension of the blade which does do what it claims to do. The sound effects that the sword gives off also is a grabber..

Can you believe I gave it 3 stars in "educational value"? The audacity!
But this toy sword is a marvel of modern toy engineering. It has MANY different sounds/modes a cool transformation
and does what a toy SWORD would do...nothing else. But the toy itself is superbly made, detailed with great paint apps.
A smooth transformation and looks just cool. Very scifi.
If the child you are buying this for is to young to appreciate this, then they may be too young for you to hand them a heavy plastic sword...
Not only that, in the show this sword is never used to fight with. Its more of a ceremonial sword that the rangers wave around and pose with.
Only to be used as a joystick to control the giant robots.
I understand children will be children,but YOU are handing them a heavy plastic sword.
By the way the tip only retracts for the transformation, Not meant to be jabbed at another person.
If your child is doing this, discipline/talk to your kids,they are obviously playing too rough.
There is also a perfectly smallish floppy tipped one (ranger sword that is)if you know your kids like to whack others with their toys.
Besides that this is the best toy sword we've gotten yet! go Ban dai! Take that Thundercats sword of omens...lol

My son got this for his birthday and he loves it. The noises it makes, the way it folds up just like the sword on the show, the way the tip extends and unfolds when you push the button on the side. It was by far his favorite present that day. If your child loves Power Rangers, this will be a big hit.
