Product Description

Product Description

Petaybee was growing up. Day by day, the sentient planet--like any child--was learning to recognize and understand the meaning of outside stimuli, to respond to those stimuli, to communicate its own needs and desires...even to use human speech.
Yanaba Maddock had appointed herself defender of her adopted planet, and she had even succeeded in proving its sentience to all the nonbelievers. But despite all her efforts, few outsiders truly cared for the feelings and intelligence of what they perceived to be a giant hunk of rock--or a mere oddity to be gawked at.
Then Yana was kidnapped. The price of her freedom--the planet itself.
But the only one who could speak for Petaybee was Petaybee--and no one knew what a living planet could do once it found its voice...

The third book of a trilogy taking readers to the birth of the changeling twins who feature in the next trilogy about Petaybee. Again I enjoyed the story because of the felines that feature in it and it brought the two previous books to a conclusion.

I'm a big fan of Anne McCaffrey and do have most of her books. This book is another one to loose yourself in! Great reading!

I must admit that I rather liked Power Lines (which is probably due to my great love for cats, which there are plenty in that book), but this book left me somewhat dissapointed. main characters are the same as in Power Lines, and I must admt that I like the big cat Coaxtl the most. Humans are pathetic at times, especially the pirates which are very cliche, as well as the lady from the high society. Marmion.
