Strange things happen.. I was in a local 'New Age' shop looking for something, but nothing in particular, to read. As I randomly scanned the shelves, this book caught my eye - maybe because I had bought the "7 Spiritual Laws" book by Chopra a few years ago.
I opened the book, randomly read a few passages from various pages and immediately felt compelled to buy it!
Along with "Inner Peace" by Paramhansa Yogananda it is rarely far from my side. I work away sometimes and these two books are always in my suitcase. Of The two, I find "Power, Freedom & Grace" more accessible and easier to identify with as it is not really 'religious' (I have an aversion to books that mention "Jesus" & "Christ" too often as I am not a confirmed believer in any one type of religion). However, Chopra offers amazing, inspirational and, most importantly for me, thought provoking insights into what and who we are, and how we really perceive ourselves.
I know Deepak Chopra has his detractors, but, if you get the chance, read a few parts of this book at random and see how you feel. It certainly works for me!

Mr Chopra is hugely successful and I wish him the best because he does and says good things. In the realm of spiritual books I find 'Power Freedom & Grace' to be mediocre at best. I think perhaps it is a simple case of letting people hear what they want to hear and make them feel good. Nothing wrong in that. I did not read much in this book that made me sit up. I just spontaneousely picked the book up and read something at random, which made me change the ranking from 3 to 4 stars. So there you go, this book definitely has the power to change your mind. Going beyond the mind...well that is another matter.Be As You Are: The Teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi (Arkana)

Written with clarity and enthusiasm, I found this book both enlightening and enjoyable. I would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone but the absolute beginner on the spiritual trail.

how many times have we all asked, who am i ? why am i hear? where do i come from ? well read on and let the truth devour you.. i looked at this book a few times before i actually purchased it. why ? again i will say wait untill the book picks you.deepak chopra for me personally has developed a style of writing that in lay-man terms comes across with such ease, poise, and clarity.it makes you feel as if he reads your mind and puts the words into print for you. if we are all part of the infinate field of pure consciousness, then surely this is the reason why it all makes so much sense ? to understand our true nature deepak draws upon his vedanta philosophy. he is so skill full at bringing east meets west together,in such a way of understanding unity and love to being the foundation of oneness. the web of life reaches out in all directions,we are all connected to the same source.im sure as it did with me,power Freedom and Grace will answer all your deep rooted questions. namaste ..
