Product Description

Product Description

Window boxes, containers and hanging baskets add an extra dimension to gardens, balconies, garden walls, conservatories, windows and terraces. They are easy to plant, wonderful to look at and can provide hours of enjoyment through the seasons. This guide provides designs for every season and location - from a spring window box filled with bright yellow daffodils to a summer wicker basket full of wild strawberries. There are window boxes planted with edible flowers, scented flowers, and flowers that attract butterflies. All techniques are clearly explained , covering the basics such as choosing your container and preparing for planting, selecting plants to suit your location, and general care and maintenance.

About the Author

Stephanie Donaldson is the author of many gardening books. As a child she learnt her love of gardening from her grandfather. Later, as an adult, she returned to gardening, working for a specialist alpine necessary, running the vegetable garden on an organic farm and then managing a large formal garden for eight years. She now lives on the sea on the south coast of England where the mild climate allows her to experiment with growing Mediterranean plants in between writing.
