Love this book. The holders are lovely to look at, not just because the fabrics chosen are brilliant, but the imaginative shapes used will brighten any kitchen area. There's a snowman and a fir tree for winter, grannie's lace trimmed aprons and fruity strawberry and melon holders for summer freshness. Pan handle holders are in bold prints, there's a lattice pie and many others all different in shape and finish. Gloves and double holders are included, instructions are very good. Only one downside - a common one in books of this type - every template has to be enlarged 200%. If you have a copier then go for it, the book is worth every penny (and so few of them are required!). I'm very pleased with this, easy to make cheerful and useful gifts to give with baking treats for my favourite people.

Not quite what I had hoped it would be, but the pattern sheets are useful. Some need tweeking to make them work properly.

This is a delightful book to read, but . . . . . . . . . . . try to make something and that's where the problem really starts.
I purchased all the necessary fabric and insulation to make the pot holder depicted on the front cover and on page 10.
I was so enthusiastic as I intended to make several in colours to match my new kitchen.
Fortunately, I started trying to make the petals first and hadn't cut any other fabric. I quite liked the idea of petals standing a little proud of the holder.
WHAT A DISASTER !
I carefully traced 12 petals onto the doubled fabric, placed a piece of insultion underneath - all as instructed - stitched all 12 and carefully cut them out leaving the botom of the petal open. Could anyone explain to me how to turn the petals inside out ? It is IMPOSSIBLE. The design doesn't allow for turning so much fabric through such a small opening. This is also true for the petals on page 5, the strawberry leaf on page 23 and the apple leaf on page 26. If anyone has a solution for this problem I would welcome it.

Very quirky designs with bright photos, pull out full size templates and easy instructions. The fabrics used are very colourful and appealing and the designs on the front cover will give you some idea of what's inside. These items sell well at craft fairs and are very well received as gifts . Some of them need some knowledge of needlecraft but the end results are very pleasing and useful.
