Brand new album by Mr. Sensible and mr. Paul Gray.
Captains' voice, very diverse instruments, nice guitarsolos over a solid rhythm section of Paul Grays' unmistakeble bass-sounds and mr. Thicketts' simple but solid drumworks makes this a strong collection of very catchy tunes. Recorded in a real garage and in Mr.Grays' kitchen, it sounds exactly like this kind of music is supposed to sound!
If you like 'Black Album/Strawberries'-era Damned (and/or Sensibles' solo-outings) you'll love this one!
I loved this from the first spin!

Like the Captain's previous outings this album is a mix of 'English' whimsy, social comment and sheer exasperation at his fellow man. Where it really scores is in the production which looses all that '80's twinkly mirror-ball crap that dogged just about everything in that decade and definitely dragged Sensible's previous work down.

This album has a set of solid songs which will sit well with the best songs from Captain's other albums. Whilst the last song 'Looking at You' isn't a re-work of the Damned's MC5 cover (look no further than 'Live at Shepperton') it is, however, a great song.

If you like Sensible you won't be disappointed with this addition to your collection. If you don't like Sensible - it's about time you did! Start here!

A great album of very British sounding pop/punk songs with traces of psychedelia. Obviously some hints of The Damned creeping into the mix. Each song concentrates on a part of our society & culture which makes our country such a quirky place to live. Captain Sensible's observations are witty, sensitive in places, and spot on. I find the production a bit lacking, but that aside, I love this album, the more I play it, the more I like it. Tune-tastic!
