Product Description

Product Description

This book is the beginning of a long road.

It exists within a paradox of detailed research and the fierce resistance of dogma.

This book is for the iconoclast.

The magus who rejects blind adherence and who struggles against the invisible prison of tradition.

For rouge scholars, artists, hackers, Goths, or any other magus on the underground path of evolution.

"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law", with attitude.

Post-Modern: A school of thought primarily concerned with the deconstruction of meta-narratives. In this text it is the rejection of the idea that there is only one way of magick.

Magick: The use of Will to elicit change in Reality.

Post-Modern Magick is self-initiation and exploration based on personal relevance and free form magick.

These pages contain not only a manuscript on post-modern magick in theory and practice, but also new post-modern grimoires such as Reality Hacker, all in print for the first time alongside more traditional text.

About the Author

Progressive ! 22 Jan 2009
By Ogmios
Format:Paperback
This book to me was an enjoyable read. It draws upon the notion of Post-modernism applied to magic. It will be of interests to Chaos magicians and may well represent a developement of that current of esotericism. The author describes how the post modernist magician can create and found traditions at will - in a post-modern manner.

It has an intereting interlude to the magick-speak with a short play which was interesting. It contains examples of post-modernist magical system as examples of how they are created such as 'Goth magick' etc.

There are some very interesting and original magical techniques described in the book - spell forms which would make your fluffy bunnies worry a bit !

One of the most interesting and refreshing reads upon the topic of Magick in recent years.

Magick Counter-Culture 18 Sep 2004
By James - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book, like Condensed Chaos & Liber Null before it, is destined to be a staple for the magical fringe. It presents the razor's edge of magick theory. The language and tone of the book was very accessable, it was 'no-fluff' and to the point without being overly simplistic. There was a maturity present throughout the book that lent credit to alot of the more radical ideas and techniques presented. The book was written with a creative flair that while edgy and stylish, could challenge readers who are more comfortable with the dry tone of more "respected" texts. The only reason I am giving this a 4 is that I would have liked the book to be a little longer, the author is dropping some MAJOR concepts, and the novice reader might have to do some outside research to fully comprehend some of the more complex elements of the text.

A post-modern review 17 Sep 2004
By Taylor Ellwood - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The language in this book is easy to understand. The author presents a fairly good grasp and understanding of book magick and post-modernism. The systems he presents are intriguing, but I would've liked to have seen each of the systems more developed in this booklet. Also the Ad&D compedium of spells once again didn't exactly work for me. Still it's worth picking up and getting a different outlook on magick.

kinda cheap... 11 Jan 2005
By Carl Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
i guess i should have taken the hint from the phrase "rouge scholars." i thought this book was not the greatest. the first bit is pretty cool, but the rest of it sounds like something out of a video game or bad RPG (which some other reviewers have said it actually is). i wouldn't buy this if i were you. instead read grant morrison or pete carroll and experiment.
