Book Description

7 July 2008
Rayne couldn't wait to get away from everything: her mum, her boyfriend, the estate. But the solitude of Morton's Keep isn't all she thought it would be. It's eerie and more than a little creepy. When she meets St John, Rayne forgets her worries; he's like no one she's ever met. So why is everyone warning her away from him? She knows there's something people aren't telling her. But how can she find out the secrets everyone wants to keep hidden ... and more importantly, know who to trust?

5.0 out of 5 stars Unsurprisingly - amazing!! 31 July 2008
The latest of Kate Cann's books, this follows the spooky/gothic/horror theme of 'Leaving Poppy' with Rayne deciding to leave her old life behind to find something altogether different and boy does she get what she wished for!
With something unexpected and eerie around every corner, even someone who is unsure about the whole 'spooky' genre thing will enjoy this book - the healthy dose of romance and adventure only add to the intensity and depth of the book as you get more and more caught up in Rayne's world with ehr thoughts, feelings and emotions.
Give this book a try and you won't be disappointed - just be sure to make time to read it in a short space of time as you'll definitely want to know what happens at the end!
Can't wait for the sequel =D

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark and Chilling!! 30 July 2008
This is by far my favourite Kate Cann book I have read, if you were a fan of her previous book Leaving Poppy, you are sure to love this as it is equally as dark and chilling!
Rayne lives with her mother and baby brother in London in a very noisey housing estate and she is desperate to get away from all the noise and her controlling boyfriend Damien, so she accepts a job at an old house in Mortons Keep, however the house is very spooky and soon Rayne is in a new world with mysterious new friends who are very fascinated with the old houses history.
You will find it hard to put this book down while reading it, as you will be as desperate as Rayne to find out all Morton's Keeps secrets! I am really pleased there is going to be a second book!
