I purchased this book as I wanted to use Clicker training to teach my dog for the show ring. This book is so easy to read and understand with pictures to put with the words. Such a simple effective way to help your puppy/dog realise that dog showing can be fun. With the help of this book my pup is loving his new clicker show training, and I can definately say the benefits are rewarding. A very reasonably prices informative book and great to add to your dog traing collection, along with being an ideal reference book for future use too.

There is so much poor handling in the show ring with dogs being dragged or bullied by their handlers around the ring. Ms Ronchette recognises that by teaching the dog what to expect and that showing can be fun, the dogs will look better and more likely to catch the eye of the judge.

Great book for those new to dog showing as well as those who have a problem they think can't be fixed as it shows you how to teach your dog to not only love showing but how you need to teach your dog to behave in the ring.

This book covers how to use positive reinforcement from the start and then how to apply it to specific show ring situations - including how to to fix many common problems. It is does not focus on handler ringcraft techniques.

Very thin book. It is quite good detailing techniques on how to get your dog to stack, gait and stand still for examination. The techniques are very good and work, however, it leaves you wanting/needing to know a lot more as of course there are breed specific differences for how to stack etc which are not mentioned, (it doesnt even give a few examples) and there are no real suggestions on how to find out more about your breed specifics other than to go to the shows. There is really not a lot in the book and it assumes that you know about showing already but just want to train a dog using positive methods. Whilst the methods are good as I said, it just felt like I could have found that out by googling online for 10 mins rather than bought the book about it for the little information that is really in there.
