Product Description

Review

'Carr's Positive Psychology is a magisterial text, an enormously informative and inclusive synthesis of this new branch of science. It is a model of a contemporary textbook, with reference to websites, useful copies of test forms, and provocative questions at the end of chapters. The positive psychology movement is fortunate to rate such an excellent textbook so soon after its inception.' - Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi - Claremont Graduate University

Product Description

The central themes of positive psychology, including Happiness, Hope, Creativity and Wisdom, are all investigated in this book in the context of their possible applications in clinical practice.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-read for those interested in psychology, 25 Mar 2006
I have read Professor Carr's excellent compendium of the positive psychology literature many times. It is a book one comes back to, time and time again; and it has become to me, a vademecum of sorts.

The book is somewhat academic in nature and style, but is highly accessible to the intelligent reader. An excellent summary presents at the end of each chapter, along with suggested reading material. The book seems geared towards students of psychology and her allied subjects, but can feasibly be used as a self-help book. For those interested in augmenting their personal happiness I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
