I'd struggled to get past the basics on Poser by myself, finding the manual a bit long winded. I just lacked motivation to explore the program fully. This training DVD was informative and easy to follow, and I found that I learned a lot in a short space of time. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who is new to Poser and wants to learn quickly. Interesting, not too much jargon and well worth the price.

First of all I think this is one of the best video training videos out there, which rivals that of most magazine tutorial CDs.
The disk features the option to open the file contents or to just watch the whole video without any breaks sort of like a mini movie where you can keep pausing and practicing that which is shown. You can also choose what video chapter and then what lesson from that chapter you want, all the videos are really easy to listen to.
First on the video is the basic main user interface, breaking down each function and drop down menu you see when you first open up Poser. It then progresses to functions such as lighting, animation, rendering, camera controls and eight other chapters, each chapter features on average about eight or nine lessons.
The best of these lessons in my opinion is the Logo Project video where he shows you a typical brief featuring a clipart picture that he needs to make into a 3D visual image, from creating the items to rendering the final image. I can see myself using this as a refferal quite a lot, a great training video all round.

I had never used Poser before getting this DVD and I found it to be a great learning aid, from the early tutorials on ward it gave to information necessary for me to have a fiddle and try stuff. I though that it was a very good tutorial system although a little annoying that ideally you need a second PC to run it effectively (watch on one and Poser on the other) it is a little overpriced compared to other tutorial DVD's the only reason it looses a star.
