This is a book that will provide useful reference material for people who are serious about illustrating combat orientated artwork.

This volume comprises of black and white photographs of models taken from three viewpoints: bird's eye, normal height, and worm's eye. The photos in each view point are shot from eight different angles. There are female and male poses in combat positions. All the female poses are clothed either in a schoolgirl/sailor suit (as in cover pic) or in combat gear, whereas the men are bodystockinged, caped and wear similar combat gear. There is a small appendix of side shots of various moderns firearms.

Whilst this is a large volume crammed with with poses, it has its limitations. The costumes are not varied enough, and it would've benefited from having a woman in bodytocking/bikini poses. The male figures are beefy but not ripped and so the aesthetic can look a bit dated.

However ... the poses convey some real attitude in their posture which is invaluable ! Believe you me, I wouldn't want to meet these guys in a dark alley (not that I frequent such places). So with a little imagination the poses can easily be converted into some nifty contemporary artwork.
