5.0 out of 5 stars As essential as my toothbrush!, 25 Sep 2000
By A Customer
We used this as our only guide around Lisbon and the north of Portugal. This guidebook was full of relevant and useful information. The advice for lone women travellers and information on transport was especially good. The only area where it let us down was in the nightlife section - it seems that the hotspots of Lisbon and Porto aren't quite what they used to be. Overall an excellent guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars An incredibly useful guidebook, 13 Aug 2002
This review is from: Portugal (Lonely Planet Country Guide) (Paperback)
I usually avoid The Lonely Planet guidebooks as I find them getting more & more commercialised as less 'off the beaten track'. Therefore when I used the guide to Portugal I was thrilled at it's content, maps, recommendations & overall informative value. I have since lent this to friends who also have had nothing but praise for it's merit - well done!
