What a complete & utter waste that this CD & this artist are not much better known. I first heard Jerry on the radio when stuck in traffic in 1992 somewhere between Hanger Lane & Tooting, & was immediately grabbed by the unique quality of her voice ( & it is unique without being extreme; also too many other female singer-songwriters wear their influences like map references) & the atmospheric beauty of the single Pale Red. The rest of the album is much in that vein, but what a rich vein, & still largely untapped. This record certainly doesn't rock, but it creates a lush & gorgeous & poignant world of its own, a haunting soundscape provided by producer Stephen Hague & musical collaborator Bobby Henry that perfectly complements Jerry's voice. 1992 should have been her year, Clearly it wasn't, but there's still time for re-evaluation.
