I heard one track played on Radio 2 while at work some weeks ago,and was hooked. It was original, fresh and just a great piece of music...to this day I haven't a clue as which album it was on. Then I heard two more tracks on the radio...and that was it I was converted!!!! Reading the other reviews on Amazon, I just had to buy PORTRAIT, but the others will follow. OK the Corrs, have got in the limelight first as one of the most popular Irish bands, but these guys deserve more recogition...go and buy the CD's and then spread the word.

Truly a remarkable album. A superb follow up to Moonchild. A different sound, yet still the talent and warmth coming though. Brilliant harmonies from John, Pat and Dan lifting you into realms of music you probably wont hear from any other band. Check this out. Buy them all because they are all different yet wonderful.

This is my first look around the Amazon website, so I am delighted to find the music of my favourite band, CELTUS, available - how wonderful!
I have read with great interest the reviews of other Celtus listeners and, whilst I agree that each individual's opinion is right, my opinion of Portrait differs.
I agree wholeheartedly that MOODCHILD is a brilliant album, treasured by myself. However, PORTRAIT is equally as treasured. I also agree that the two albums are quite different. For one person, this may be a disappointment. For myself, I believe it is all part and parcel of the wonderful talent of Celtus, that they have the ability and desire to write and perform so many styles of music. I love all the tracks on Portrait - the ballads, the instrumental, the more serious tracks, the happy tracks that are great to sing with, the rockier tracks also. There is something for every mood, and that surely can only be a good thing. Whatever Celtus provide us with, quality and class are a common theme.
You will find the lyrics make you sit and ponder on things that have happened to you in your life - you will enjoy singing in the car to all these tracks. (My favourite single for a many a year is from this album "Wide Awake").
I can't wait for the next Celtus album!

I love Celtus and once again I loved this album, I would highly recomend. It is a shame the band are no longer together.

Portrait - lacks the originality of Moonchild
Although the latter part of the album is very good, the overall content lacks the originality of Moonchild which is probably one of the best albums I have ever heard. Read more

Simply one of the best albums I have ever listened to.
I went to see Jimmy Nail on tour and was amazed at there support act, Celtus. I went and bought the CD and I listened to it when I got home. Read more
