4.0 out of 5 stars Great value for what it does 13 Jan 2012

I recently moved home, and needed more storage without spending a lot - and needed something portable for future move

This took me about 30 minutes to build maximum, even with realising at the end was wrong way up...easily corrected though!

Surprisingly sturdy and lots of space, the cover isn't the prettiest but its more than capable!

I am using mainly as to store clothes and have lined the shelves with card for both support and also as the wire spaces are quite far apart - around 5cm.

Overall for the money am very happy with my purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars does the job for cheap 3 Dec 2011

great for temporary storage, very easy to assemble and offers loads of storage space.
Only down side is the space between the grid on the flat shelves, a little on the large side so clothes can hang through but for 20 it is a steal.

The box arrived having seen better days, and had clearly been opened and resealed. The parts were dirty, and looked like they'd been rolling around the floor of a dusty storeroom. The poles (there are two different sizes) were held together only with an elastic band, which meant many of them had fallen out of the bundle and were loose inside the box. Most of them didn't have a label on them, so some pre-sorting was required. The plastic joints were just thrown in the box.

For such a simple product, I found assembly frustrating (however, good news is - you don't need any tools, and there aren't any screws). As per another reviewer, I also started putting this together upside-down (there is nothing in the instructions to help avoid this). This isn't just an aesthetic mistake, but rather it affects the assembly - so make sure you have the parts the correct way up as follows. This is hard to explain, but I hope it helps someone. On one side of the shelf parts, the middle grid part is welded on top of the pole. Instinct is to assume this is the top-side of the shelf, since it produces a level shelf. This, however, is the underside of the shelf; so that the grid sits below the surrounding poles - with the poles creating a 'lip' all the way around. If you do not follow this, you end up getting extremely annoyed, and thinking it's a completely stupid design.

Bear in mind that the grids (which have much larger gaps than the photo indicates, and the metal is narrow) could leave indents on fabrics; and are also not suitable for small items which will fall through. It's not even working for my t-shirts, the corners of which are dropping through the gaps. I'm going to have it put some cardboard, or similar, on the shelves.

Finally, the cover is ugly - and smells horrible.
