Architecture Today

Product Description

Portable buildings have been in use since ancient times but only recently have their architectural qualities been appreciated. In many cases the mobile element of the building solution has not only been the driving force in the creation of the form and image, but also the main reason for the design's functional success.

This book examines the development of portable architecture by the examination of, mainly, contemporary built examples and explores the constructional and functional diversity of the type.

Excellent Book but its a pity that the pictures are not in colour e.g.Dream space isn't fully appreciated because the picture is in black andwhite. If you turn to page 46 and view the picture titled Mounting of aprototype arch for Renzo Piano's IBM Pavillion
