Beware! This is not a usb HIGH speed hub (contrary to the manufacturer's description. If you try to plug in a wireless USB adapter (Netgear for instance), you won't be able to connect to your usual wireless network. Your laptop will tell you that there is a faster way to connect...one of your laptop USB ports... You will receive the same message if you try to plug in a Flash drive, a mouse or a keyboard, even though in these 3 cases you will be able to save your data on the Flash drive, use the mouse and use the keyboard.
Other problem: one of the four connectors on the plug I received was loose and therefore useless.

I really liked this item, particularly the lead length which is ideal for me. But I discovered, as mentioned by a previous reviewer, that this is not a USB 2.0 High Speed device. (I should have taken notice of this previous review before purchase.)

This is a mis-representation of the product but, for the price, I'll still use it. The speed difference won't matter for my keyboard, mouse or printer but I'll plug my broadband dongle into the other available port on my laptop.

It's a shame but I can't recommend it.

Came quickly & does what it says on the package. I'ts compact so less wires to get tangled at the back of the computer & I'm still able to have the computer table up against the wall.

I was initially very happy with this item until it stopped working. After few weeks my webcam, that was connected to pc through this hub, stopped working. |Funny thing is that light was still on but skype wouldn't recognize it. When I connected webcam directly, it worked. Tried several times but it won't "turn on" through the hub. I also felt that hub was pretty warm so I suppose internal wiring was of very bad quality and only portion of power from pc now reaches the webcam.

Not recommended!

This is USB 2.0 *compatible*, but I have tried this on Window, Mac and Linux and only get a maximum speed comparable to USB1.1 or around 1 megabyte per second. So ok for power or low bandwidth devices, but not for disks etc.

Went for the cheap option and got stung, will buy a Belkin now.

I make a rule of never writing reviews while I am snarling; it's hard to manage with this.

On the plus side, this is dirt cheap.

On the minus side, it isn't good value even at this price. It is really shoddy; the most glaring problem being that the connectors are so loose that cables don't also make a good connection and even then they fall out at the drop of a hat and. There is also an issue with the firmware; the hub often needs resetting (unplug and plug in again) because it simply stops working. I also had to stop using it to connect my printer because after a few minutes, the hub would malfunction and stop feeding the whole page.

In short, not frankly fit for purpose and only the fact that it isn't worth queuing up in the Post Office over less than a fiver stops me from returning it.

Nice compact unit. Would have given it 5 stars but the usb cable to PC is a little short and on my laptop it gets in the way of my mouse and dvd drive, but I suppose this is bad design of laptop, in fact it is! the laptop usb's are so close(only 2 of them) I am unable to plug in my mouse(I don't like the touchpad) and my mobile broadband dongle at the same time without this hub. Well worth the price and highly recommended

Sorry if I went on a bit :)
