What a waste of time of a book,
By
This review is from: Porsche 944 Automotive Repair Manual (Haynes Automotive Repair Manuals) (Paperback)
After years of buying Haynes manuals to fettle various bikes and cars, I found this to be an absolute waste of time, specs are only for USA, nothing is carried out in detail, sunroof for instance is not even mentioned - leaks + 944 go together, belt replacement a joke, only answer is the official manual at megabucks--- advice buy some beer instead, far more satisfying

A Porsche Dealer must have written this book!,

This review is from: Porsche 944 Automotive Repair Manual (Haynes Automotive Repair Manuals) (Paperback)
I just bought a 1983 944 and I was hoping to get some information on timing belt replacement from this book, but it is way too general. In my quest for an adequate manual I could only find one alternative: The factory repair manual at the "bargain price" of $225.00 My advice: before you buy this book, spend the money in phone calls to find a used factory manual!

Not very useful at all,
This review is from: Porsche 944 Automotive Repair Manual (Haynes Automotive Repair Manuals) (Paperback)
As noted by others, it only refers to the USA version, and provides no info on 16v or the turbo models.
A severe lack of factory diagrams too. This can be confusing for the beginner, or people new to this vehicle. There are also silly mistakes- and Haynes do not seem to have a place on their website for reporting errors or getting addendums. Pretty much a complete waste of money. The quality of Haynes manuals has really got bad in the last few years. I have a couple of quite old ones from the 80s, which are pretty good. Compared with Bently Porsche manuals this doesn't even come close. You can get a lot better info from forums and websites so save you money and go online!
