No, this is NOT another coffee table book!!! All pictures are in black and white and the A5 size format means they are not particular big either...BUT it is possibly the most in detail account of the development and history of the Porsche Transaxle 4 cylinder cars!
Originally published in 1990 Michael Cotton thouroughly revised and updated the book in 2000 to include the crown of creation: The 968!
He describes in great detail the ultra-rare 924 Carrera GT/GTS/GTR cars which with up to 345HP were the most powerfull 4 cylinders ever made!!! There are even pictures of the Carrera GT engine that I have never seen anyehere else and disregarding the size, the photos are quite sharp and clear.
This book is such a source of information about the "Best handling, most balanced sports cars ever made" that it is an absolute must for every Porsche enthusiast... Yes every one, including you 911 fans out there! After all Michael Cotton rightly points out that for the first 15 years Porsche only built 4 cylinder cars and you wouldn't call the 356 "Not a real Porsche" just because it had VW Beetle engine, would you?
If you are a REAL Porsche enthusiast, this book is for you!
