This would be a great book for anyone who is interested in actually rebuilding the alternater on a porsche 911 but is not the least bit interested in removing the said alternater. Same thing goes for the starter and everything else I needed the book for. I was sort of planning on taking the starter/alternater to a starter/alternater repair shop to have them rebuilt. The book spent three pages on exploded diagrams showing the inner workings of a starter and not even one photo of how to remove it. I've got news for most of you, unless you live in Stuttgart, there aren't many local starter shops that will work on a porsche 911....but once removed they're just simple bosche and motorolla parts and basically any shop will rebuild them for $30-$40. Everything i looked up was the same way...absolutely no photos of dissasembly...maybe that's on pupose...but I know for a fact I didn't purchase a book on rebuilding appliances this book has practically nothing to do with Porsche 911's specifically, but rather the same bosch parts common to all German cars. I ended up throwing this book in the trash.
