This book is the best dork diaries yet.
You just can't wait to read on!
It has an exiting ending so i can't wait until the next one comes out.
I'd recommend it for 9 years and over.
I'm almost 11 and i couldn't let go!

Dork Diaries is one of those series that seems to get better with each book. Pop Star might just be my favourite so far, and as usual I read it in one go. Once I start reading these, I just can't stop - they're so fun and addictive!
In Pop Star, Nikki Maxwell's life starts to fall apart (at least that's what it seems like to her). Her school scholarship is in jeopardy, and there's only one thing to do: compete to win one in the school talent show. Her arch-nemesis, McKenzie, is of course entering too, which leads to a friend-stealing, underhanded head-to-head challenge for the winning title.
As always, Nikki deals with her unfortunate luck in the only way she can: by writing witty, melodramatic diary entries that Britain's very own fictional drama queen, Georgia Nicolson, would no doubt be proud of. Nikki does what needs to be done, often with cringeworthingly embarrassing results. I mean, being seen singing in front of everyone with your little sister at a pizza joint isn't something you want your crush to see on YouTube, is it?! No, I thought not! Rather than emigrate when this happens, Nikki does the only think she can: puts her singing talent to good use!
I'm so glad this series will be continuing for at least another couple of books, and I'm convinced it should be as popular as the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. Middle grade girls will love Nikki and her friends, and I'm looking forward to seeing what she gets herself into next. Love it!

Fantastic book! I'm 12, and find it very hard to find funny, but age-appropriate books. I love the way the author writes a brilliant insult, but then adds: ''But I only said that in my head, so nobody could hear it but me.'' Rachel Renee Russell has that touch that is very rare with authors, the ability to make all readers hate characters, and absolutely love them other characters at the same time. Very clever indeed. Kind of random at times, but very unique and original. I loved the way it wasn't all about Nikki, even though it was her diary, she wrote all about her friends and family, and of course enemies...

Brilliant Read
My granddaughter loved the Wimpy Kid diaries and I thought I would try the Dork Diaries - she loved the book and read it in super quick time.
