About the Author
Clare O'Connell has always loved baking, and after undertaking work experience at a combined bakery and chocolate shop, she decided to start selling her own cake POPS. She runs her business, the Pop Bakery, from her family home in West Hampstead, London, and supplies cake POPS to Harvey Nichols and the Sanderson and St Martin's Lane hotels. Clare was also recently commissioned to provide Cake POPS for a Topshop launch party in Bath in southwest England and will be working with Topshop on similar events across the UK. I've seen the cake pops in Harrods so was keen to have a go at making them myself. The book has lots of ideas and a clear step by step guide. Everyone seems to love them & they're a novel talking point when you share them out. The book reccomends you use "candy melts" to cover your cake pops which are available on line, so if you're ordering this book you might want to order some candy melts at the same time otherwise it will delay you getting started. Happy baking :)

I recently bought this book for a friend's birthday and when it arrived I liked it so much I've ended up buying a second copy for myself! The designs are really sweet - from very simple classic cake balls with sprinkles (good for beginners like me!) to the more detailed Leopard and Russian Doll designs (which give you something to aim for once you've had a bit of practice). I thought it was good value for money, the list of stockists in the back is really helpful and the pretty photos make it a really great present. My friend loves her copy too and we're now competing to see who can make the cutest Pops!

The book is ok. The ideas are limited but it's not bad for inspiration. However, there are lots of errors in the translation of recipes from US cup quantities to European grams. The local supplier listing is useful
