Not disappointed - I haven't got an iPod !,

In reply to mobphones' review of Nov 29th... I had no trouble copying tracks to my PC (albeit in WMA format using Media Player, which won't run on an iPod but will work on my iRiver when it arrives I hope.)Admittedly I bought my copy of this in a shop instead of online, but its the same package, same catalogue number etc. but mine does not have any player software on it at all - its just 3 normal CDs. Having said that, I do have another CD which DOES have its own player (Santana - Celebration) but I can still play that in Media Player and rip it to the hard drive ready for transferring to the iRiver if I just click on 'cancel'. Maybe I have just been lucky, but the point is if the only thing putting a prospective buyer off this set is the inability to copy to an MP3 player, you should be aware that maybe it does work after all - certainly if you have a Creative, iRiver, Phillips, Archos or one of the other MP3 players that also handle other formats.

The best of their genre !!!,

Virtually every quality song the PSB's have done is listed on this compilation. In my opinion though everything they have done oozes quality and thought. Listening to the tracks again in random order (as they are listed) just re-emphasised how well the music has stood the test of time and how well the partnership has evolved. The production is great and the songs still as good as ever. The two new tracks Miracles and Flamboyant are fresh and up to the usual standard. As for the rest, its pointless singleing any out. I'm sure you'll remember your favourites and that will be your catalyst to buy. Worth buying the limited edition for disc 3 remixes, particularly New York City Boy - Lange Mix which is a truly anthemic mix of a great dance song. Paninaro, DJ Culture, West End Girls, Its a Sin etc etc etc, They really will be as good as you remember ! I have nearly all these tracks on other albums but its worth the money just to have an excuse to play them again ! Definite 5 star material.

A true history,
This review is from: Pop Art The Hits (Audio CD)
What is to say further? The twenty singles up to and including Go West remain unsurpassed in the history of modern pop. That does not mean the rest does not matter; they are only not up to the standards the due has easily set (and still yet to be surpassed by the others); but let’s admit it: whenever the PSB set their minds to it, they show that they are still at somehow mesmerising ease in creating unforgettable songs: just look at the three opening tracks in Nightlife. I really smile with sorrow when I hear that PSB are going down or sinking or losing their touch. I am sure as my name that there are thousands of their peers out there, discreetly regretting why on earth these are not their songs, from MJ to Madonna to their so-called rivals Erasure and New Order, to mention a few. After that entirely glorious and dignified carier, what can you expect from a band more? All in all, buy this pack and see what the pop was, is and should be…kneaded with art…thanks to a band that has never compromised art to “fifteen-minute fame”. By the way, do not forget to buy “Alternative” and you will have the real history of great modern pop (unlike the megalomaniac HIS(s)TORies by others). Thank you.
