5.0 out of 5 stars Good writing means good reading 15 Feb 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
There is a lot of mediocre writing out there, loads on the Internet, loads on the bookshelves but good writing is rare. This collection is a collection of good writing. It draws connections between things which make you go "ah hah!", it makes you think differently about things like Elvis's records, it shows another way of looking at the world. I read it on the bus, appropriately enough as you will see when you read the collection, and the journey did not seem long enough.

This is a collection of good writing - if you are interested in football, Elvis, English pop eccentrics or how we live today then you will find something to amuse, inform and make you think here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very likable short stories 13 Feb 2012

Definitely something a bit different here in this series of shorts. I thought the writing style is rather good, seems to flow through each of the shorts pretty well. Just as you would expect with it being a compilation each short is a completely different story that doesn't take very long to read through.
