The previous reviewer has kindly written what is said on the back about 'The Poor Relation'. Here's what the back page says about the other story:
The Sliver Squire by Mary Brendan At twenty-seven, Emma Worthington knew the prospects of marriage were dim, but even that could not persuade her to marry an appalling rake in order to save her father from debt. But there seemed to be no escape from Richard De Quense, and Emma began to wonder: did she really want to hide from the Sliver Squire? I thought that both stories were very captivating hence the 5 stars. The first is a lady who is doing good works in secret but the love interest gets the wrong idea which causes lots of angry word play exchanged between them. The second story is excellent, with the leading lady just slipping through the mans fingers every time, (the chase) quiet intense in a good way. This is the second best one I have read from the collection and I'm only on book 6.

Unless it was to catch herself a rich husband. Miss Isabella Winstanley, with her manifest joy of life, was utterly captivating. Amburley could almost wish he knew nothing of her double identity. But resist her he must, because he had set himself the challenge of unmasking her...
