They have a UV sun protection factor of UPF 50+ which helps prevent sunburn, however you should always apply a high factor sun cream to all exposed skin.

I got this for my toddlers swimming lesson. Its a cheap towel quality like the kind of towels you see in gift shops on holiday and after only one use has started to frey and come apart around the neckline.
