Product Description

Laguna Max-Flo 4000 Waterfall & Filter Pump is designed to circulate water loaded with moderate amounts of solid particles (or solids) and transport them to suitable external filter systems (including pressurized filters) which then trap debris that could potentially pollute pond water, effectively filtering the pond.

Max-Flo is ideal for use with filtration systems and for creating waterfalls and watercourses. Easy to install and operate, the pump is completely submersible and engineered to run continuously.

Max-Flo 4000 is intelligently managed by Laguna's next generation Smart Pump Technology (SPT), a major technical advancement that further improves pump performance, energy efficiency, and user friendliness. SPT is an internal self-regulating system that tracks power consumption, hydraulics, and impeller direction to ensure powerful output and energy efficiency, so that only the required amount of power is used to operate the pump efficiently.

The pump is powered by a magnetic-driven motor that is unmatched in the market for its ability to generate powerful and continuous water flow while consuming minimal electricity-the perfect combination of high pump efficiency and low energy costs. This is great news for people who are wary of costly hydro bills.

Max-Flo 4000 can handle solids up to 3/8" (9 mm) in size.

Guaranteed for 3 years

Features:

  • Strainer cage protects impeller and assures continuous suction
  • 3/8" (9 mm) diameter cage openings for solids handling capability
  • Easy-to-use Click-Fit connectors for fast and easy hose connections
  • Unique two-level suction capability, through upper and lower casing, for maximum water flow
  • Pump cage can be easily attached to a fixed surface using the convenient keyhole cutouts

Manufacturers Code: PT8236

Laguna Max-Flo 2900 Waterfall and Filter Pump 8 May 2014
By Joan De Nyse - Published on Amazon.com

We had purchased a filter from a dealer - he convinced us to get a smaler pump on it to slow the flow of water so that the UV light could have more affect on the algae. We went with his opinion. Then we discovered that the smaller pump did not have the power to lift the water to the top of the falls.

My daughter urged me to go on line. I was shocked to see that the prices were much lower than buying from the dealer we had frequented - and I could scrutinize many products right from the comfort of my home. The pump is fantastic - lifts the water with no problem - and I have seen absolutely no difference in the affectiveness of the UV light. My pond is crstal clear. I use a microbial algae killer when I first open the pond - it knocks the algae back - and the filter with the UV light and the Laguna Max-flo 2900 handle the upkeep.

The pump is everything that printed on the web site. Would not hesitate to buy another one. It is efficient, powerful, the price was exellent and it was delivered to my door in a timely fashion. What more could anyone want?

great product 24 April 2014

Not a cheap pump by any means but worth the money because of durability.
The only part that needs to be replaced occasionally is the impeller.
The part is pricy but saves replacing the entire pump.
Energy usage is great for this size pump which I believe is 70 watts.
Requires less frequent cleaning of the cage over the non max flow pump.
Just wish that Laguna would make the bushing available that the impeller shaft rests in.
As that is the part that tends to fail. Would save having to purchase the entire assembly.

Wow- energy efficient - twice the amount of water at reduced cost - self cleaning cage with makeup water + fountain = 5 STAR 29 Aug. 2014
By Bob G. Mi. - Published on Amazon.com
Wow, what great pumps and energy efficient. Best gph is the 2400 Laguna at 28.57gph per watt used - 84 watts for 2400gph. Note: On my 18 year old 2000 gallon KOI Pond, I replaced my third pump, 1800gph 145 watt pump and my 36W UV light filter pump using 45 watts which is set at 250gph to kill free floating parasites, bacteria, and algae with 2 LAGUNA 2000gph fountain/waterfall pumps since price was right.
Now I use only 160 watts versus the 190 watts using before and my waterfalls are twice the amount. Also I now have added a BALL fountain off one pump and the rest goes into my 150 gallon Skippy's bio filter. This pump is set on a timer to run only 14 hours a day. The second pump I use the fountain head exit piped to my 36 watt UV Light filter at a controlled rate of 250gph and also rest goes into the 150 gallon Skippy's bio filter making twice the water over the two falls I have. Now, I have more water thru the bio filter and over the two waterfalls with just one pump at only 80 watts and at 160 watts 2.2 times amount of water flowing.
Another great feature is I use the backwash cleaner head, PT609 with the PT637 garden hose connector for pond make up water from my well connected directly. All you have to do is take the knockout plugs off the side of cage to mount above parts. Now when I put make up water in pond it cleans the plastic cage holes fairly well weekly and I only so far had to brush cage openings once this summer. Beautiful waterfalls - love the sound at night and love the ball fountain head - bonus love the reduced cost to operate.

This is an amazing pump. I bought it because someone who reviewed it said it was efficient and they were absolutely right. I was resigned to higher electric bills because I had a small pond but this little pump chopped $30 off my electric bill. It was easy to install. It attached to the existing set of plumbing for my pond. It is quiet and has run all summer without complaint. Love it.
