Product Description

Review

"Judy Belcher and Tamara Honaman's new book, " Polymer Clay Master Class: Exploring Process, Technique, and Collaboration with 11 Master Artists" can be used as a 'how-to' book, however that is not its main attribute. Lots of publications tell you how to make something through carefully written text steps and accompanying photos, but "Polymer Clay Master Class" goes beyond that and examines the creative process itself. Unlike the others, this volume offers an opportunity to read 'between the lines' along the path of creating." --Polymer Art Archive

I have been waiting for this book to be published and it is better than I expected. The idea of projects arising from collaboration between experts has worked really well. Within a coupe of days I have been inspired to develop ideas from 3 of the projects and am raring to go at more.
While this may be a bit advanced for a beginner you wont need a lot of experience to have a go. Even for someone new to polymer clay it will make you want to keep at it.
The range of ideas is stunning and the photography suberb.

I really enjoyed reading this book to gain an understanding of the working practices of some of the leading lights in Poly Clay. I have seen work by all these artists on the internet and the generousity, of those who work in a this medium, to share their work never ceases to amaze me. There is a project by each artist and descriptions of their process and then how they worked together. Some I have seen in various places on the net but I like to have a 'hard copy'. As someone relatively new to Poly Clay it's versatility is a constant delight, even though my prefered method is currently complex flower canes I still love to see what others can do with it. Truely masters of their art. I strongly recommend this book.

I sat and looked through this straight away - wonderful colour photos and easy to follow instructions. It complements many other books on this subject. and I particularly liked the collaboration between artists - including men! I have a life long passion for colour, texture and design and this book certainly fulfilled these aspects for me. Will definitely experiment with polymer and inclusions - using wood and metal. A great book.
