Have you read the title for this review? Be warned! Once you sit down with this book any reader with domestic, or indeed any other, responsibilities is in serious trouble. This is a real page turner and I'm not even a polymer clay addict...yet.
Christi Friesen has excelled herself, AGAIN! Anyone familiar with her other much smaller "how to" books (Birds of a Feather, Under the Sea, Dragons, Fish, Cats: Big and Small, Welcome to the Jungle and the brilliant Steampunkery) will already know how talented this artist is not only in her ability to manipulate polymer clay, but in her ability to "teach" out of the pages of a book.
"Polymer Clay and Mixed Media together at last" is no exception. She and her publisher should both be commended for the clear, concise text that supports the equally clear step by step pictures. And the humour! I would read Christi's books just for the little asides that get slipped in (page 108, step 3: "Are you bored of rolling clay out into sheets yet? Too bad!"). This is an Idiots Guide that never makes the reader feel like an idiot, a real talent.
