Art of Polymer Clay Creative Surface Effects by Donna Kato,
By
This review is from: Art of Polymer Clay Creative Surface Effects,The: Techniques and Projects Featuring Transfers, Stamps, Stencils, Inks, Paints, Mediums, and More (Paperback)
An absolute stunner of a book. A truly inspirational book with fascinating techniques, stunning effects and excellently presented. Clear step by step photos, well written text and every method described and followed with a project to try. Donna Kato is a talented artist and she showcases the work (and gives due mention)of many excellent clay artists. She uses inks, stamps, embossing, mould making and the use of armatures, inkjet images, transfer techniqes. Not a book with basic clay methods, rather one for building up a repertoire of surface decoration, using mainly white or black clays as a base. An excellent book to complement any polymer clay artist's reference section.

Donna does it again!,

Donna Kato has done it again! Her first book, The Art of Polymer Clay, published in 1997, is still a valuable source of information but now she has written another that is also a beautiful, informative, visual gem. This one is full of surface effects including methods of transfers for toner and inkjet prints, stamps, stencils, inks and paints, liquid clays and more. Each technique has a step by step tutorial with clear photographs and text. The finished pieces are all enhanced by outstanding design as well as craftsmanship.
A great book by a truly talented artist. It has been well worth the wait. Carol Blackburn author of 'How to Make Polymer Clay Beads'

Fantastic inspirational book!,

I was really pleased with this book as it covered so much more than I thought was even possible with polymer clay! I had bought this book thinking that it would have some nice ideas and patterns for making a few beads, but when I got it I couldn't put it down! Oh my goodness what an exciting book! It covers all the basics e.g. tools and clays, then moves through different techniques such as canes and mica shift. Then it goes into techniques such as using liquid polyclay as a transfer medium to enable you to use printed images and photos in your bead work! Amazing!
A great book to have in your collection!
