I have used the Polti Vaproetto 2400 for a couple or years. For light cleaning it is excellent.It does cost a lot more than others available. The Vaporetto does NOT remove all the burnt out stains on the cooker and hob as easily as the adverts show. It is really hard work and one has to use chemicals too! The solenoid can get sediment on it quite easily. When this happens, it can take between 4-6 hours before it cools down and one can release the safety cap to try and dislodge the sediment by shaking it vigorously. The phone number for the Service Dept is permanently busy.

When it works its good but am i the only one who has had so many problems in two years it has had to be repaired 4 times and now its out of warrenty its broken conpleatly i liked the results when used as an iron you caugant beat it but the cover on the hose had to be replaced twice in a year,

Ten reasons not to buy one of these:
1. Unreliable - mains cord pulled out of mine and arced and due to obscure screws and housings you can't get the back off to refit and repair. 2. Polti want £[...] to inspect and repair - flat rate - rip off 3. It's useless for cleaning carpets 4. It doesn't shift grease 5. It doesn't shift limescale or bathroom grime 6. It doesn't remove gunk from around taps 7. It's a mightmare to store 8. Fitting and changing cloths is a real faff 9. It takes ages to heat up 10. It is the most over hyped over rated product I have ever bought It is good for cleaning windows but I can get as good a results with a bucket, sponge, squeegee and a chamois leather. I only gave it 1 star because I have to - otherwise I would have given it zero. Mine has just gone to the skip and good riddance!
