Through my previous knowledge of the high quality output of the ACT label, I came to know Leszek and Polska (Lars Danielsson being an "old" acquaintance for his collaborations with Keith Jarrett on the competing label).
This is very subtle music, interweaving classical music, hinted-at children's songs and percussive jazz, very melodic, even poetic. It's also very peaceful, maybe in a Polish kind of style (?), and introspective.
I really love this record and play it often when I'm alone and in a contemplative mood.
Thing is if Mr Mozdzer was English, German or American, this record would be flying off the shelf. For now he's relatively unknown, but I sincerely hope I can contribute my grain of sand to change that. He certainly deserves it!
Do the Polska!
