Book Description

4 Feb 2010 My Totally Secret Diary (Book 2)

Polly Price didn't think it was possible for her actress mother, Arabella Diamonte, to be any more embarrassing than on the trip to San Francisco last summer. That is until she agrees to take part in a television programme called Celebrity Home Watch and a camera crew arrives at their home to film. Her mother lacks volume control at the best of times, so this is truly a reality tv nightmare - with no escape for Polly!

Dee Shulman has created a real hit for young readers with her charming full-colour illustrations and interactive concept.

Review

What a darling book! The illustrations alone are worth a look at this book. I had a little giggle on each page with the pictures. Very cute!

It is written just like a journal. Full of marked out mistakes, and taped in keepsakes. This promises to be a fun read for any tween. I enjoyed it immensely! Go check it out!

(The Sweet Bookshelf 20100106)

I really loved the format of Reality TV Nightmare. The diary entries were interspersed will full colour doodles, photographs of Polly's friends and pictures from her magazines. Even her writing had spelling mistakes and crossings out. A completely authentic tween diary. This is a short, sweet and very funny diary perfect for young teen or tween girls. Pure fun! (So Many Books, So Little Time 20100101)

Reality TV Nightmare was a fun, fizzy read with the most fantastic illustrations and young readers protagonist. I was swept up in the enjoyment of turning each page in this hilarious visual delight. I absolutely loved the format of this book. Each page had many gorgeously colourful illustrations and interactive concepts, it was very hard to put it down. This is not a book I would usually pick up so I advise everyone who wouldn't to do so, as I guarantee you that you won't be dissapointed. (Sasha Clarke The Sweet Bonjour 20100118)

...a wonderful, eye-catching book that all young girls will be instantly drawn to. (Ilford Recorder Series Ilford Recorder Series 20100128)

Hilarious... This fun read will strike a chord with all those who suffer from embarassing relatives. (Aldershot News and Mail 20100615)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!!!!!!! 9 Feb 2010
Format:Hardcover
This is one of the best children's book that I have ever bought. My two children (12 and 14) absolutely loved it! The depth of detail and gorgeous illustrations were so wonderful that my children have read it cover to cover three times already, and still won't move on to other books. If anything the sequel is better than the first, if that's even possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Stunning 9 Feb 2010
Format:Hardcover
Another stunning book by Dee Shulman - fantastic characterisation and the drawings are just darling. It has quickly become a family favourite and my children particularly adore the mix of drawings and real life images. The diary format was great and the fact that it was written by the child, from the child's perspective meant that my children could really relate to it. Furthermore, the corrections of spelling mistakes by Polly have really helped my daughter learn how to spell some really quite complicated words.

A MUST BUY!
