More About the Author

Jeremy Green was a senior lecturer in IT for 13 years and a Special Constable for 9 years before going full-time in the police. He has been writing for just over 3 years and has now written 30 books in a variety of genres - mainly police and military under a pen name. A couple of which, have made it into the top 100 on the Kindle store. He has also gone on to co-write a murder mystery and romance novel. If he can find the time he would like to write a science fiction novel.

Not that it has all been plain sailing for Jeremy - having been 'stalked' within months of releasing his first book by a fellow author, suffering a constant deluge of negative reviews from spoof accounts. On both his own books and any that the individual believes to have been written by Jeremy.

His ever supportive wife, Alex, runs a successful publishing company Digital Dreams Publishing. She is the driving force behind the success of his writing with her own dedicated team of proof readers and a graphic designer.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs proof-reading and reformatting for Kindle 26 Sep 2012
By Mike
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The intention is good; this is basically a large collection of information I've read elsewhere (largely on the internet) collated into a single publication.

Therein lies the problem. It needs someone to proof-read it thoroughly. There are many, many typing errors, including basic things like apostrophes on plural words, which is particularly ironic, given the publication's own advice to potential Police recruits: "Remember that spelling, grammar and handwriting is [sic] still being assessed as are your responses."

Then there are some, quite long, passages that read like they've been written by a child, and which add absolutely nothing to the book at all. The following is probably my 'favourite', which for good measure also includes terrible grammar and one of those rogue apostrophes:

"Since then the Police have had a variety of vehicles from Jaguar, Woolsey, Austin, Daimler, Ford, Mini, to name a few including the iconic Ford Zephyr and Rover SD1. Today it is a mixture of Volvo V70 T5/ D5, BMW 3 and 5 Series, Vauxhall Astra and Vectra, Ford Focus and Mondeo these being the more common cars used by the various police forces. But you may also see Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Evo, Range Rover, Land Rover Discovery, Jaguar XF and Skoda Octavia VRS. Along with cars some Police forces have a variety of motorbikes and van's some forces have lorries as well. In 2010 the government started a list of preferred suppliers Ford being the first on the list followed by Vauxhall, Hyundai, Jaguar, and Peugeot along with some Audi, BMW and Mitsubishi cars."

So, in summary, it probably is worth 3.33GBP for the Kindle version, but you'll almost certainly sit tutting and laughing at the mistakes and awful writing style.

You have been warned.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time or money! 4 Mar 2013

I don't normally write reviews but I feel compelled to do so on this occasion! This book is VERY, VERY badly written with dubious content, so much so that I have obtained a refund on my kindle edition as even a couple of quid is too much to spend on it. As well intended as it may be, the author clearly has little first hand experience of what they are attempting to write about - I cringed when reading it and had to get rid! Sorry to be so direct, but when people put themselves forward as professional writers and expect people to not only read their work but actually pay for it, then they need to work harder at polishing and editing their work beforehand - and perhaps write about something they genuinely know a little more about!

3.0 out of 5 stars Hard to focus! 19 Jan 2013
By Roon999

I agree with the other review. Good info but so many mistakes and clearly written by a special constabulary fan!

I'm only a short way in but finding the haphazard way it has been written along with the grammar and spelling mistakes a bit off putting.
