Ever since the release of the now defunct and retro VHS tape "Police, Stop" series in the early 90s, there has always been a curious fascination watching criminals and law breaking motorists giving thrilling chases up motorways, roads and lanes of Great Britian. In this series we see the Police Interceptor team of Essex chasing these individuals, gangs, drug runners, thieves, boy racers, road traffic collisions or indeed just the law abiding motorists who may have overlooked that out of date insurance document, MOT certificate or road tax. Up and down the roads of towns, cities and regions across the county, we marvel at the role these pursuit trained police officers carry out thier duties to serve and protect.
In thier much prized, souped up police vehicles such as Sabaru Imprezas or BMW, (Beamers as they are often referred in this series), we watch as the officers of the law, bring to justice these law breakers, some intent on causing terror and grief to Britain's roads just for the fun of it, others who may just have had one drink too many, or may be hiding a stash of drugs or weapons in the boot of the car.
We also get to see the more humourous side of the job, such as the young lady in the pink car who has worded her private plate not in accordance with the regulations, or the runaway horse galloping up the carriageway against the flow of traffic.
All in all, a great serious, and with so many police programmes running on our tv screens, this is one for car buffs, traffic cops chases and raw RTA footage. Thoroughly recommended!
