By simply using the zoom function built into your Polaroid Digital Photo Frame, you can enlarge the size easily and effectively, giving you complete control of what is being displayed.

Impressive picture quality (800 x 480 Resolution)
Impressive picture quality (800 x 480 Resolution)
Resolution is important. All the fuss and hub-hub about High Definition TV revolves around resolution. So let’s try and simplify this. All LCD screens use pixels to create an image. When you see 800 x 480, this means that your LCD screen has 800 horizontal lines and 480 vertical lines of pixels to effectively display an image. The larger the number of lines on any screen, the clearer the picture will be. With a high resolution 8" LCD screen, you can display sharp, crystal clear photos without the need for a PC or photo editing software.

Sharp pictures (250:1 Contrast ratio)
Sharp pictures (250:1 Contrast ratio)
Understanding contrast ratio doesn’t need to be complex… quite simply the numbers relate to how well the screen can display the blackest black to the whitest white. So with a ratio of 250:1, you can be safe in the knowledge that your pictures are always going to be displayed at their best with a Polaroid Digital Photo Frame.

Bright and vivid colours (200 cd/m² Brightness)
Bright and vivid colours (200 cd/m² Brightness)
Things get a little tricky here but the basic principle is simple. The brighter the screen the better the viewing experience.
The brightness of an LCD screen on a digital photo frame, PC, mobile phone, digital camera or TV is measured in cd/m² or candelas per square metre. So with a brightness of 200 cd/m², this Polaroid Digital Photo Frame can display the same level of brightness produced by 200 candles per square metre! That’s a lot of candles, but what this means is that your photos will look as vivid and clear as the day you took them.

Reads virtually all current memory cards
Reads virtually all current memory cards
With so many digital camera manufactures using so many different types of memory card formats, you could be forgiven for getting confused. Well worry no more! At Polaroid, we thought we would play safe and build our frames with the ability to read virtually all memory cards. Simply take out the memory card from your digital camera and place it into the side of your Polaroid Digital Photo Frame to start viewing your photos. No wires, no PC, no software and no fuss.

Easy transfer of your photos from your PC
Easy transfer of your photos from your PC
USB is short for Universal Serial Bus. Simply, this means it’s a plug that can support data transfer. Your PC will have USB inputs and so does your Polaroid Digital Photo Frame. You can transfer photos from your digital camera/camcorder or portable USB pen drive. That way, even if you don’t have a memory card or want to just plug the photo frame into your USB pen drive, you can transfer and view your photo easily. All without the need for a PC.

Easy transfer of your photos from your camera
Easy transfer of your photos from your camera
JPEG is the standard file format for digital images. When you take a picture on your digital camera, it will save the image as a JPEG. It basically means the photos on your PC can be transferred by USB or memory card to the photo frame and then played back.

    A little disappointed 28 Dec 2008
    By Anon
The frame arrived quickly and the box was well protected although the black frame was scratched from behind (this must have occurred at the factory as the box is security sealed. The screen has good detail, unfortunately it is a 16:9 screen rather than a 4:3 which means that it either crops your photos, or you have to put up with black bars at the sides (not using the whole screen width). It has taken me some time to adjust the brightness/contrast and colour/tint and I'm still not happy with it. Skin tones seem bland but reds/greens are too bold. Dark pictures are too dark but light pictures are too bright. I was also expecting to plug the frame into my PC, via the USB, and be able to copy files onto the separate SD card, however I cannot. The menu functions are slow and occasionally the frame gets confused and freezes. Over all it's not bad and the quality is certainly better than some screens I have seen but I have seen better 4:3 screens for a slightly cheaper price.

    disappointed 26 Jan 2009
Picture quality quite good when adjusted but I found the instructions quite useless and the menus too confusing an illogical. I never managed to get some of the functions to work and became quite confused by a 'secret' internal memory which saved my original file preventing me from using other cards.
As it was a Christmas present I reluctantly decided to keep it.

Ordered one for a xmas present and it was faulty. This was replaced very quickly by Amazon but this was also faulty. Refund was the best option!
