I had to get this to replace a broken one. While Polar kit works really well, it's light, responsive, has a good range and comfortable, it really isn't as robust as I believe it should be for outdoor multisport actively. Polar kit would get 5 stars if they sorted the robustness of their kit. As usual the price for this pretty basic electronics is high, thank heavens for Amazon where the cost is more realistic.

Polar wearlink 31 18 Mar 2012
Size Name:M - XXL|Amazon Verified Purchase
This belt is nothing but unfit for purpose. I warn anyone buying a Polar FT60 or whatever the strap fits to. After reading dozens of adverse comments on the strap I thought it possible might be user errors. However I bought the FT60 and of course the accompanying transmitter and strap.

Low and behold after three months the watch was recording 160bpm which at 74 years of age gave me a bit of a shock. I changed batteries in the watch & transmitter three times (an expensive business). No effect! Still 160bpm instead of 100 that is when it decided to work at all.

Fed up I ordered another belt and transmitter and found nothing wrong with the original transmitter but fault lay in the strap.
Have sent strap back - no problem there and hope for its return speedily. My old NV Edge works with the newly purchased chest strap. Polar did not keep a spare wrist strap for that - can you believe it! I had to get a thin plastic strap from the local watch maker. Beware of parts for old Polar products - they don't keep them ie don't care too much about customer service for older models. Are they worth buying??

The newly purchased strap/transmitter works as it should and I couldn't be happier with performance of the HRM. How long the new or replacement strap works is still to be proven.

Basically the strap is unfit for what it is. It is infuriating to spend this amount and find it is faulty after such a short period of time.
Shame on Polar!!

Cannot recommend this product - steer clear of it. Gave one star only. Watch is terrific, transmitter fine and strap around which everything revolves for its operation is completely unfit for purpose. I hope Polar will stand by their replacements. My Garmin is more reliable!!

Replacement Strap 5 April 2010
Size Name:M - XXL
I was delighted to find that I should be able to replace my strap battery when I purchased my Polar HRM but when it ran out the battery change did not work and I was forced to buy a new strap. This has worked perfectly with my watch and was cheaper than buying a new watch but it is disappointing that I had to replace the strap rather than just the battery (and the new strap isn't cheap). I'm trying to follow the instructions for strap care to the letter to prolong the life of it. My next HRM may not be Polar based on this experience.
