This is a wonderful introduction to the world of polar bears for wildlife loving children. I've worked with the National Geographic a couple of times in the arctic and I can say they are great at capturing animals in their natural environment with respect and sensitivity. I do miss the white world of home.

Lots of information, once you get passed the introduction, which was a little long winded for children. Excellent photographs as you expect from National geographic. Good book for able key stage two children to read independently, or to use for reference. Reasonably sturdy.

This is an okay book but I didn't realise it was a childrens book. Im sure it would be great for children but I wouldn't of bought it if I'd have known.

Teenage Grandson Loved it 5 Feb 2010

Face to Face with Polar Bears, Face to Face with Grizzlies, and Little Polar Bears was purchased as a "Special Christmas Present" for my three teenage grand kids. They get an annual subscription to National Geographic KIDS. These exceeded my expectations, on filling the bill.
They talked their mom & dad into letting each of them call and thank me for the "great books!" Said a card couldn't let me know how much they are enjoying them. They middle one chose Face to Face with Polar Bears.

I bought this book for a speech I was doing in college and it came in very handy. It gave information about Global warming and some things we can do to help stop it. It is a good book and I think children will find it interesting. It talks about the polar bear's life style, what they eat, how long they live, etc. Overall it is a wonderful book and I highly recommend it.
Face to Face 4 Mar 2010

This book is one in a series of "Face to Face" titles by the same author. Although it is not a book for primary children, my students enjoyed the photographs and the blurbs of information that I read aloud to them. Very interesting book, indeed.
