Yes every second traveller carries a lonely planet but where would you be without it?
Sometimes it leads you to dodgy bars but that is very rare. We could not have done without this in Poland on our road trip from Gdansk to Warsaw. We would not have discovered the enormous castle or the gorgeous little city of Torun where capernicus is king.
Would recomend this to anyone.
Use the lonely planet as a guide not as everything thing you do and everywhere you go, its only supposed to be a guide not your holiday planner otherwise you'll miss out on some of the hidden gems Poland has to offer.

I bought this guidebook just before a holiday in the Tatra Mountain,specifically because the title highlighted that there was a section dedicated to the region, but i was a little disappointing to find that it was only very short. I anyway found the book detailed, accurate and very pleasantly written, which made it a nice travel companion!
