Product Description

Product Description

Stewart Reuben has been playing poker, or a game rather like it, since he was 9 years old - a career spanning approximately 56 years. He has played mainly in Britain and the USA against some of the best and (fortunately) some of the worst players in the world. There aren't many players who have managed to stay the course over such a long period. In this book, Stewart candidly gives the reasons for his success and also for his failures. Meet some of the great personalities of the game and some who you perhaps would not want to meet in a dark alley. Learn on your journey the relative merits of casino and home games; how to gamble; but most important, how to enjoy yourself. Reuben's previous five poker books are all technical works and highly regarded. Poker has undergone great changes in recent years. This book should inspire you to take advantage of the possibilities which are opening up and thereby prosper.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring book with very little interest for a Poker player, 30 Mar 2006
By A Customer
This review is from: Poker 24/7: 35 Years as a Poker Pro (Hardcover)
Stuart has written several books on how to play poker, which have been quite successfull. This is more about his life on the poker scene and the players he has meet. I brought this book because I know several of the people he talks about in it, I know the players and find it amazingly boring so if someone was to buy it, who does not know the players....
Stuart is a very intelligent but very boring man and this definetly comes across in this book. If you but this book expecting lively stories about colourfull characters you will be very disappointed. This book is best avoided at all cost's.
