5.0 out of 5 stars A good ending to the Diamond and Pearl arc. 26 Oct 2013
By Steven Capobianco - Published on Amazon.com
The diamond and pearl storyline of Pokemon Adventures has been entertaining and the transition into the Platinum storyline is a plus. Good work, Viz.
5.0 out of 5 stars Getting better with each new volume! 20 April 2014

I must admit, two things: 1) I am a huge Pokemon fan, always have been and always will be, and the Pokemon Adventures series is one I have been following on and off since reading volume 1 way back in 2000 with Viz Media's first edition. I'm not thrilled with Viz for stopping the releases all those years ago, and it still bugs me that the games from 2003 and 2006 are still receiving their manga-counterpart releases in 2014, but ultimately that doesn't affect my interest and desire to read these. 2) When I first started reading it, the D/P/P chapter was actually my least favorite of the series I have read so far (which includes the original, G/S, R/S through volume 21 as of this writing, HG/SS, and B/W through vol 3 as of this writing). I'm not sure why I didn't like it at first, maybe it was the recycled "joke" panels that weren't funny after the first time, or the fact that I wasn't really able to connect well with either of the main characters at first, but the first two volumes were a stretch for me. Since the story has picked up though, it has been getting much better. I have found myself being sucked in to the story so much that I'm back to saving money and buying the next volume as quickly as possible (often only a week or a few days apart). With volume 7, 8, and 9, the story has really taken a good turn and I believe it's one of the better arcs in the series right now. If you like any of the Pokemon Adventures series, try to look past the lame jokes and mild character development in the first few volumes, it's definitely worth it!

I like this book because it has a lot of action. This book has an unexpected ending. If you like the other books in this series you will like this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the anime 1 Nov 2013

Pokemon Special, or Pokemon Adventures is 10x better than the anime, they actually evolve their Pokemon, and it's pretty funny reading the DPP saga because of Dia and Pearl's jokes, lol.

1.0 out of 5 stars Printed backwards, with hard to read, correct pages 26 Oct 2013
By mom of two beautiful children - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This was a very big disappointment for my child who Loves Pokemon. The book is printed backwards with croocked pages. I got it so my child would read more.. I would list con and pros, but have no pros. I think I could have done better printing the thing on my old dot printer. Glueing the pages together in the dark.. It would look better than this book does.
